Local Comic Creator Spotlight: The Veil Gallery Show
On Saturday, October 25, locals turned out for the first gallery from the newly formed Glow Collective, which has multiple local comic creators amongst its ranks.
The event was hosted at the Angry Easel in Meridian, ID and featured brand new pieces from:
Sugar May
Noble Hardesty
Vinny Navarette
Chopsy
Hope Project Arts
Eli the Cartoon
Joe Silva
And last, but not least, organizer Sam Fortner
The first of hopefully many gallery exhibitions from Glow Collective, there were some great pieces on display. The quirky venue also allowed for a couple local artists to start doing impromptu paintings during the show.
You can learn more about forthcoming Glow Collective events by following Sam Fortner at https://www.instagram.com/thesamfortner/.

Led by local cartoonist Sugar May, this biweekly group is an opportunity to learn about and discuss the often-overlooked history of women’s, BIPOC, and queer contributions to art, whilst we work on individual embroidery squares in a freeform, expressive way. In each session, we'll learn embroidery techniques while cultivating an empowered and cheeky energy, in a space that is safe and inclusive. Students will be encouraged to share their art experience and explore the collective legacy and future of underrepresented artists.
