I spoke too soon about sending only one email in August, because there is too much coming up in advance of Boise Comic Arts Festival to not send another update.

Let’s dive into what Boise Comic Arts Festival is, the exciting comics debuting at the festival from local creators, and a spotlight on a local podcast.

What is Boise Comic Arts Festival?

The poster for BCAF XIII by Rose Bousamra

In it’s 13th year, BCAF is the #1 comics focused event in Idaho. There may be other conventions and festivals, but none of them put as much focus on the creators who actually make comic books and graphic novels. This year will include all the features you know and love including a two-day Artist's Alley, cosplay, panels, performances, and workshops at Boise Centre.

BCAF XIII Location & Hours:

BCAF is free to attend and no registration is required. You can learn more at https://www.boisepubliclibrary.org/using-the-library/boise-comic-arts-festival/.

Pelts Issue 2

Do you need a new great podcast focusing on local creators?

Well it wouldn’t hurt to give The Caffeine Fueled Creative Podcast a listen. Local cartoonists Chopsy and Sam Fortner chat it up with a new guest each episode, with each new one offering a new insight into the local creatives that call Idaho home.

Chopsy and Sam have great chemistry and each episode has featured fresh perspectives from each of their guests. Make sure to give it a listen, especially if you’re interested in the local scene.
